Benefit Entitlement and Information Clinic

Date:Wednesday 15th February 10am - 12pm

These sessions are an ideal opportunity to come and find out more about your benefit entitlements and what support services are available for you. Even if you are already claiming benefit it is worthwhile coming along to make sure you are claiming everything you are entitled to. The event will start with a very short presentation discussing benefits and financial support, followed by Disability Action's information team offering one-to-one support on site, as well as the opportunity to arrange a meeting at a later date.Registration is required as spaces are limited.

Kidz in the Middle Exhibition

Date:Thursday 29th March 2012 9:30am - 4:30pm

Location:Ricoh Arena in Coventry

A free UK childrens disability exhibition totally dedicated to disabilities and special needs, families and carers, as well as the professionals who work with disabled children. With over 4000 square metres of exhibition space, this exhibition once again promises to be a hive of activities with over 100 exhibitors attending. This busy event is now in its 4th year and has a wide variety of exhibitors and a section which was added in 2011 called "The funding point" to give information and advice about alternative funding streams for childrens disability equipment and much more.

JFHC Live

Date:29-30th March 2012

Location:Kensington Olympia, London

This brand new event will provide more than 30 CPD accredited, thought leadership seminars and also showcase services available to family health professionals. The event is expected to attract over 2000 delegates including midwives, health visitors, community nurses, school nurses and dieticians. Penny Hosie, editor of Journal of Family Health Care, and convenor of JFHC Live, explains why the exhibition will be so beneficial to attend: “JFHC Live is a fantastic and free two-day event. Essentially a "live" version of the Journal of Family Health Care, this CPD-accredited event is aimed at all community health professionals working with families and children.

Art of Living Lifestyle Show

Date: Tuesday 3rd April 2012 10am-4pm

Location: 253 Argyle St, Glasgow G2 8DL, Scotland

The second Glasgow Lifestyle Show for people with learning and other disabilities who now fund their care through their own budgets. Following the success of their 2011 event, the 2012 exhibition is set to be even bigger and better for 2012.

Early Years Education Show

Date: Friday 20th & Saturday 21st April 2012

Location: Industries Hall, RDS, Dublin, Ireland

Now in its sixth year the Early Years Education show, or largely known as the EYE show, is well established within the industry and caters for all aspects of education included SEN. Although not solely focussed on special educational needs, the variety of exhibitors on offer makes it a worthwhile visit for carers, teachers and parents alike.

NAIDEX National

Date: 1st - 3rd May 2012

Location: NEC Brimingham

Naidex is a well established and free to attend disability exhibition, with a specific area dedicated to childrens disability. Naidex is the biggest new product showcase in the UK with thousands of products on show to aid independent living - including wheelchairs, scooters, adapted vehicles, pressure relieving beds, walking aids, recliner chairs, stairlifts, access equipment, daily living aids and much much more! Disability Somerset 2012

Date: 10th May 2012 - 10am to 5pm

Location:Sedgemoor Auction Centre, Jct 24, North Petherton, Somerset, TA6 6DF

Disability Somerset is the South West's largest independent living exhibition, showcasing the wealth of information, support and equipment that is available to enable older and disabled people of all ages to live independently. Disability Somerset will have over 100 exhibits, demonstrations and workshops. Disability Somerset is free, with ample parking and a fully accessible venue.

Kidz South

Date: Thursday 14th hune 2012 10:30am - 4:30pm

Location: Rivermead Leisure Complex, Reading

Established in 2007 this exhibition once again promises to be a hive of activity with over 100 exhibitors attending. Many of the companies that exhibit at the ‘Kidz’ events you see year on year, as they have chosen our exhibitions to launch new equipment and products, so make sure you visit all the stands. The company representatives are often experts in their field and usually have solutions to what may seem like unmanageable problems. As funding for equipment continues to be a concern, the ‘Kidz’ team have taken a proactive approach and introduced ‘The Funding Point’ to all our Kidz events where you can access information and advice about alternative funding streams for equipment and much more.

Disability Awareness Day Exhibition

Date: Sunday 15th July 2012

Location: Warrington

Europe's largest voluntary led pan disability event aiming to highlight what is available under the umbrella of 'independent living'. We continue to provide a platform to enable small and large support groups, businesses and public sector organisations to work together promoting their services directly to the general public. Free to attend and a great fun accessible day out for all the family, Disability Awareness Day offers information, entertainment, arts, support, solutions and more for children and adults with special needs or disabilities.

NAIDEX Scotland

Date: 18th - 19th September 2013

Location: SECC Glasgow

PLEASE NOTE - this event is not running in 2012! Details above are for 2013. Naidex Scotland (previously known as Independent Living Scotland) is Scotland’s only homecare, disability and rehabilitation exhibition, enabling you to touch, test and compare the latest products to aid independent living (free event, although pre-registration is required). Naidex Scotland showcases the latest products in the disability market including access equipment, beds & pressure relief, children’s disability equipment, communication aids, moving & handling equipment, scooters, wheelchairs and much more.

DNEX - Disability North Exhibition

Date: Wednesday 19th - Thursday 20th September 2012 10am -

Location: Newcastle Racecourse, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne

Disability North is holding the North’s largest Independent Living Exhibition DNEX at Newcastle Racecourse. This free exhibition provides information, advice and equipment for disabled people children through to adults, older adults, carers and health / social care professionals on a range of disability related issues.

A free exhibition showcasing equipment and resources for children and young people with special needs. Over 40 specialist companies, charities and presentations throughout the day.

REHACARE - Germany

Date: 10th - 13th October 2012

Location: Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre, Germany

Rehacare is one of the largest disability exhibitions in the world, established for over 30 years. This fair is an ideal event for anyone with disabilities, care requirements or chronic conditions. Well worth a visit is you are looking for specialist equipment or struggle to find equipment, daily living aids etc in the UK. Exhibitors come from all over the world to showcase their products at Rehacare, see their website for further visitor information.

NAIDEX South

Date: 17th - 18th October 2012

Location: Excel Centre, London

Launched in 2010, Naidex south is the newest addition to Naidex exhibitions. It is a free event that aims to recreate Naidex Birmingham's popular combination of industry-leading suppliers, the latest product innovations and CPD accredited learning. Now in its third year, it's worth a visit and has a good range of exhibitors providing products and services for special needs as well as having a sensory section and children specific exhibitor area.

Special Needs London

Date:12th - 13th October 2012

Location:Business Design Centre, London

This event is focussed on special educational needs, primarily aimed at teachers, carers and local authority representatives. Resources and services from hundreds of educational suppliers offering a wide range of ICT, software and classroom resources to support children in their learning – all under one roof. The organisers say "It's an essential opportunity for you to shop for the latest SEN resources and services from hundreds of suppliers, for every kind of special and additional need, with exclusive show discounts and even some free samples."

Kidz Up North - Disability Exhibition Dedicated to Children

Date: Thursday 29th November 2012 (9:30am - 4:30pm)

Location: Reebok Stadium, Bolton

A free UK disability exhibition totally dedicated to children with disabilities and special needs, their families and carers, as well as the professionals who work with them. A very busy event now in its 11th year, this exhibition has a wide variety of exhibitors and a new section added for this year called "The funding point" to give advice and guidance on where to go to get funding for childrens disability equipment.
